Oh Praise be....by Tanya Turner

I am done with my first round of classes!! Five to
be exact. Everything from Medical Modalities to
Traditional Chinese Medicine. May I just say my
butt is sagging a wee bit! I don't know how it
happened but it appears I have made A's on all
three exams and I am waiting to hear about my
business class and my deep tissue Swedish class
that were graded on papers and practical out of
class massages I did. I do feel my age so I think I
will arise and go now and fall on my face! Love to
all who prayed for me.

Pretty Hilarious Words from the place of pretend.....by Tanya Turner

My kids are hilarious! Every one of them. Audrey
and Judah keep me laughing all the time with the
new words they invent to portray their mindset.
They live in a whole other world and I pray they
stay there as long as they can. Some words that
crack me up are anatomy replacements like: for my
bottom Judah calls it an udo bottom...supposed to
mean a rather plump one ....then when I wear my
hair up he says it looks like a spankin' wheel????I
have no idea what that means and then Benjamin's
nose is a boo nose and anyone that does not have
hair has a bowling ball head....I have to kindly
remind him that he must not tease people outside
our home because other people get their feelings
hurt even though he says it all in love and fun at
home. Then Audrey came flitting through the house
the other day and the child loves all things
dinosaur. She especially loves the flyers and
pretends to be one. She said she was a flyer the
other day so I asked what her name was and she said
she was "flying turdy" Now don't that beat all!

In memory of Daddy....Tanya Turner

I miss you Daddy...................................

Lookin' out my back door....CCR
Just got home from Illinois lock the front door oh boy!
Got to sit down take a rest on the porch.
Imagination sets in pretty soon I'm singin'

CHORUS:
Doo doo doo Lookin' out my back door.
There's a giant doing cartwheels a statue wearin'
high heels.
Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn.
A dinosaur Victrola list'ning to Buck Owens.

CHORUS
Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band.
Won't you take a ride on the flyin' spoon?
Doo, doo doo.
Wond'rous apparition provided by magician.

CHORUS
Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band.
Won't you take a ride on the flyin' spoon?
Doo, doo doo.
Bother me tomorrow, today, I'll buy no sorrows.

CHORUS
Forward troubles Illinois, lock the front door, oh boy!
Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn.
Bother me tomorrow, today, I'll buy no sorrows.

Happy Birthday Benjamin!......by Tanya Turner

Happy Birthday to the sweetest of babies, my own
Benjamin Kaelin who turned one yesterday. 10,000
words cannot convey the wonder and the gift you are
to my life. I am swept away every morning I have
the opportunity to see your bright brown eyes and
dimpled smile. You keep my heart young. I delight
in your growth the way you cruise around the
furniture, the way you clap and wave bye bye and
say..."buh buh" I love to hear you say Da Da and Ma
Ma. I look forward to a lifetime Of seeing you
develop and grow into the rich person you were
designed to be. I love you beyond words or thought.
It registers in my spirit where there are no ways
to describe the beauty of what you are to me. Happy
birthday my baby boy.....and many many many more.......

Randy Pausch....by Tanya Turner

My heart was broken to hear the news of Randy
Pausch's death today. I have followed his life for
awhile now and every time I saw his sweet face I
felt I had known him all my life. He has changed me
for the better and helped me to dare to dream
again. I can't help the tears from
falling...sadness for his wife and children and for
his family. What a rare spirit he was...lifegiving,
among the common clatter of everyday news. I was so
thankful to know he knew the Creator. Darling Randy
we loved you, take your flight dear one....
Chris Rice has a song Come to Jesus. The last few
lines make me think of your life.
Sometimes the way is lonely
And steep and filled with pain
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain, then
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus and live!

O, and when the love spills over
And music fills the night
And when you can't contain your joy inside, then
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus and live!

And with your final heartbeat
Kiss the world goodbye
Then go in peace, and laugh on Glory's side, and
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live!

First baby tooth gone in the Turner home...by Tanya Turner

Yesterday was a big day for Audrey. We took all
three children to Grandma and D-Daddy's house while
I took a little trip with some girlfriends for the
day. I asked Grandma to pull Audrey's tooth that
was hanging by a thread. Grandma is brave that way.
She is gaining quite a reputation for tooth
pulling. I am sure there will be many more trips in
her direction for that sole purpose. I admitted I
am a big WEENIE. I can watch surgeries on the
health channel while my husband gags but I cannot
pull a tiny little tooth. Well within minutes of
our arrival and a small squawk from the bathroom
from Audrey, the tooth was finally out after months
of wiggling, false starts on my part trying to
muster the courage to do such a thing, carrots,
apples, and corn on the cob that Audrey refused
because it hurt her tooth too much. So in the
Turner tradition that David has started. Three
cheers for Grandma and her fearless ability to yank
a tooth, and mostly three cheers for my darling
girl on her way to ladyhood. Blessings my girl,
blessings.

Along the Road....by Dan Fogelberg

Joy at the start
Fear in the journey
Joy in the coming home
A part of the heart
Gets lost in the learning
Somewhere along the road.
Along the road
Your path may wander
A pilgrim's faith may fail
Absence makes the heart grow stronger
Darkness obscures the trail.
Cursing the quest
Courting disaster
Measureless nights forebode
Moments of rest
Glimpses of laughter
Are treasured along the road.
Along the road
Your steps may tumble
Your thoughts may start to stray
But through it all a heart held humble
Levels and lights your way.
Joy at the start
Fear in the journey
Joy in the coming home
A part of the heart
Gets lost in the learning
Somewhere along the road
Somewhere along the road
Somewhere along the road.

Sushi....by Tanya Turner

How many of you look at something, a craft, a food,
a building, a home project and say," I can do that"
Well I am that type. I have never been afraid to
give it "the old 1 2" as my Daddy laughingly said.
Sometimes I flop. But most of the time I really do
a good job. For years I have enjoyed Sushi. Not the
raw fish kind. Country girls don't do
that....blaaaah....But the California rolls or the
Vegetable rolls. I had a sample years ago at Whole
foods with a friend who bought some for her
daughter and it has been love ever since. I have
bought it on occasion for a treat when there is a
little windfall. There was this whole mystery
behind the sushi roll to me. Well this week I was
determined to learn to make them myself. I went to
the nearby Asian Market. Bought enough supplies to
last 6 months for what it would have cost me to buy
a dabble of sushi on a couple of trips. Found a
good recipe and I am blown away! It tastes exactly
like the rolls at the store if not better because
it is so fresh! My technique over the last couple
of days has gotten better and better. My rolls are
getting tight and uniform. They are delicious! What
a great snack with almost no fat. I really enjoy
conquering new territory. It seems I never get
bored there is always something to learn. Some
skill to master. I am ever a student of life.
Fascinated by people and new ideas, I also like
saving money any way I can so making things is a
great way to do that.
